Senior Leadership Team: Marketing for a Consumer Retail Brand
Marketing Director (Board member) & 5 Heads of Function.
The business imperative:
To enhance the reputation of the marketing function at board level and determine how collectively the team could influence senior stakeholders in the business to see the function as having the potential to drive a leading impact on the business overall. Ultimately to change the face of marketing for the benefit of the business and the brand.
The Work
Initial engagement with the Marketing Director to explore the context of the team, its current landscape and its history within the business overall.
PROPHET High Performing Team profiling, individual and team to illuminate collective preferences for motivations, decision making, leadership inclinations and group role alignments. This highlighted strengths, gaps and overlaps in role preferences and illuminated the impact of their collective preferences on their aspirations in the business.
A “Brilliance Boost” session
A 3hr debrief session to explore strengths and detailers asking pointy questions of each other to surface blind spots and understand why they may be facing the current challenges and align on what they needed to take action on.


The Impact
This was the first time they had experienced team profiling instead of purely individual profiling so having the opportunity to explore their own preferences together and the impact they created as a team was new and insightful.
This generated a strong appetite to really focus on the impact they wanted to create as a leadership team vs what they were currently experiencing.
They committed to regular time together to focus on creating a strong united force both externally to the wider stakeholder group and internally to the marketing function.
The team generated actions and commitments to build on and embed their work.
